Antigua, just the best
If y’all recall I recently got back from Antigua…aka my engagement trip DUH.
* Ps….still possibly in shock/forgetful but then other times like Holy Sh*t gotta plan a wedding and be a bride and all!
But back to the magical land of Antigua! By far my favourite place in the Caribbean for sure! It’s super un-touristy in the best of ways. Imagine a more private affair, lots of yachts and secluded beaches.
We stayed in Falmouth Harbour at the Antigua Yacht Club Resort and it was stunning! We were down the road from Pigeon Point beach which is rated one of the best beaches on the island, and we were walking distance from the historic English Harbour and Nelsons Dockyard.
If you ever get a chance and are into history at all, Nelsons Dockyard is a must see. Our favourite part of the trip (aside from the engagement of course) was spending time at Boom, an old gunpowder house converted to a pool, spa ,and restaurant! It had the most stunning view of the old harbour and the dock and just beautiful yachts and trees and flowers and the pool was perfect and the food was delicious. Lobster on lobster on lobster. Literally had lobster twice one day, * drool *
A few of the best spots we visited:
Catherine’s Cafe - super food, great cocktails, amazing vibe. This place is right on the beach and stunning
Boom - mentioned this one above but this is a must go! Aside from the amazing food the pool is perfect, there are daybeds everywhere, its quiet and the view is unreal
Antigua Yacht Club - the restaurant they have had some of the best sushi I’ve ever had
Stingray Bay - literally got to swim with stingray out in their natural habitat, it was incredible
So….what have we learned??? That you’ve got to go to Antigua! Seriously, go. So many random, clean beaches everywhere, yachts, lovely people, delicious food and just a great time!!!
-ugh, missing Antigua but back in reality now, XO
