Tips & Tricks | Easy Ways To Make Healthy Changes
I know, I know. The time for New Year’s Resolutions have come and gone considering we are in the middle of JUNE already! But if you know me at all, you know I always try to come back to things. Health and fitness has been on the forefront in our household this year ( we even got an elliptical ) !!
So I thought I’d give you just a few tips and tricks that I have found work for me… Just a few ways to get on track and build good habits.
Tips & Tricks
Get yourself a big water bottle! I tend to use a 1L milk jug (cause I think it’s super cute), but you use whatever…just make it big! And hot tip; having a straw helps! I don’t know what it is but it just makes you want to drink more.
Going with the first tip, don’t be afraid to spice up your water. I’m talking fresh fruit, maybe a little mint or basil even, maybe you throw in a splash of ACV. Whatever your taste, make your water fun. It will encourage you to stay away from sugary drinks AND you’ll want to drink more!
Keep lots of fresh fruits and veggies around. You’ll be much less inclined to rummage through your pantry if you’ve got fresh produce laying around.
Smart Swaps; switch out gluten doughs to maybe a plant based dough, choose whole grains, fresh over processed, unsweetened over sweetened. Small swaps in your daily life will make this seem effortless.
Craving sweets??? SAME, like always. I’ve been loving some dark chocolate, “Nice” cream, or these really fun Smart Sweets that have like a TON of fibre and are so nice.
Do a little workout everyday, even if it’s just a walk. Get moving, get motivated. Even on the days I feel like poop I try to either get a walk in, or just jump rope for a few minutes or even just see how long I can hold a plank for. That makes me feel like I’ve done at least something, not just lounged you know?
